Watercolour and gouache on heavy paper. 49,8 × 34,6 cm (19 ⅝ × 13 ⅝ in.). Monogrammed in pencil lower right: CA. On the reverse, inscribed by another hand in black needle point pen and blue ballpoint pen Anfang 20er Jahre Reg 325/ 1923/24? "Liebespaar" ("Weg zwischen Bäumen und Häusern)". Catalogue raisonné: Michael 325. [3369] Framed

Condition Report: Fine, harmonious overall appearance. The colours fresh and vibrant. The sheet edges without tears or losses. In the corners on the left-hand side, faint crease marks and printer's creases. In the right sheet area below the centre, a hairline curved scuff mark (16 cm). The paper overall with a few pale scuff marks with subtle differences in surface shine visible in raking light. At the upper edge on the right and left, each minor spots of liquid glue; at treetop level, a few minuscule splashes of light brown paint. On the reverse, along the upper edge in multiple places, minor abrasion and thinning of the paper surface due to the removal of former mounting; there, corners, remounted with paper adhesive strips onto the support cardboard
