Oil on Hessian. 34,5 × 48,5 cm (13 ⅝ × 19 ⅛ in.). Signed and dated poorly legibly: Bargheer 7[3?]. Titled in pencil on the reverse: Südliche Stadt 2. On the reverse: Town scene. Oil on Hessian. Catalogue raisonné: Henze 1961/3 (incorrectly dated; see Henze 1972/9 to 1973/7). [3237] Framed

Condition Report: Very fine, harmonious overall appearance. The colours fresh; in the lower right corner, the dating partially faded. The canvas is not relined and is mounted on the original stretcher. The outer edges and the reverse sligthly dusty. A small, impasto paint spot in the upper left area, slightly flattened by the framing under glass. Under UV light, no retouching or restoration visible
